Bill Forsythe is a volunteer host of WBOI-FM’s Friday Vibe, featuring jazz and a smattering of blues, rock, pop and folk music. He is a marketing writer with a Fortune 500 financial services company, where he has been employed since 1985. Before that, he was a reporter at radio stations in Michigan, Nebraska and Indiana. Bill is a native of Chicago and graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a degree in journalism.

Aaron Brune is the host of Community Calendar at WBOI/WBNI and keeps the Community Calendar website updated. When not on the air,  Aaron enjoys time with his children and grandchildren, and still holds hands with his wife of over 30 years.

Stan hosts classical music on WBNI 94.1FM. His programs are Matinee from noon to 4pm Monday thru Friday, and Con Brio from 11am - 2pm each Sunday. Stan has volunteered at NIPR since 1996.

A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for over thirty years. She is currently co-producer and host of Folktales, co-coordinator and host of Meet the Music, and producer and co-host on Midday Matters: Art Centric.

He spent two years as an AmeriCorps Volunteer before joining NIPR in June 2009. David also assists in the design and delivery of digital content through NIPR.fm.

Plugging In For A Better Night's Sleep

High-tech gadgets, like smartphones, keep us connected at all hours and are making it more difficult to get a good night's sleep. But several new smartphone apps claim to help users sleep better. New York Times health and fitness reporter Anahad O'Connor explains the science behind apps.

A disk jockey in the 50’s and 60’s with the professional name of Doug Stephens, Doug ended his radio career at WOWO in 1967. He joined NIPR as a volunteer in 1996 and hosts All That Jazz Saturday afternoons 2pm – 5pm on WBOI 89.1FM.  He provides reports of home games of the TinCaps, Komets and Mad Ants for Morning Edition.  Previews all music received at the station and determines which will be played. Doug is also the voice of automated classical music on WBNI 94.1FM.

Jackie joined NIPR in 1999. She runs traffic for WBOI 89.1FM and WBNI 94.1FM. "Traffic" means scheduling announcements of support from underwriters and during the programs and day parts they sponsor. She is also responsible for billing and receivables, entry of payables and deposits, and assists with data entry in membership.

Ed joined NIPR as Chief Engineer in July 2006. He is responsible for two stations technical infrastructure, WBOI 89.1FM and WBNI 94.1FM, as well as three HD channels (89.1 HD-1, 2, and 3) and three internet radio streams (available at nipr.fm.).  His primary duties include repair and maintenance of transmission and broadcast equipment, providing network supervision and support, and serving as the federally-mandated, designated chief operator of WBOI and WBNI.
