Jazzfest - April 12, 2013

NIPR’s Jazzfest chases away the winter blahs with hot licks and cool improvisations. For a nominal admission, attendees are treated to an evening of diverse jazz music by local and regional acts on four or more stages. This cabaret atmosphere is complete with food, drink and plenty of free parking – a perfect place to meet and celebrate with friends.

Picked By the Pros Wine Pairing Dinner

In late spring, NIPR pays tribute to such NPR  favorites as Lynne Rosetto Kasper and Rick Steves with an elegant wine-pairing dinner. This            exquisite experience begins with a wine-tasting event and moves on to a six-course gourmet meal. An appropriate wine, specially selected by NIPR’s very own wine pros, Dan and Krista Stockman, accompanies each course. And a silent auction of dozens of wine-related items adds plenty of added fun to this truly unique evening.

Sunday in the Park with JAZZ

NIPR invites the entire community to gather in Headwaters Park for a syncopated sendoff to summer. Held on a late Sunday afternoon in September, this free family-friendly musical montage of jazz runs the gamut from Dixieland to big band. Food and vendor booths offer satisfying diversion between sets, and children have plenty of room to play. NIPR listeners have an opportunity to meet and mingle with their favorite on-air personalities.

Meet the Music—LIVE

WBOI'S Meet the Music: Your gateway to the total home-grown music experience! The brainchild of host Julia Meek, Meet the Music features several regional acts each week, in a wide and wonderful array of styles and sounds, with no genre left behind. These sessions are recorded in a 'sound stage' format, right in our own WBOI performance studio. In addition, Julia and crew move the whole show over to C2G Music Hall , for a free, live remote   broadcast, 4 times a year, giving loyal listeners a chance to hear and see the show first hand.
